Last week Maria and Peter visited Professor Luciane Quoos from the Department for Mathematics of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Prof. Quoos is an expert in algebraic curves over finite fields and their applications in algebraic coding theory. The goal of the visit was therefore scientific collaboration, but another reason was to participate in the Ph.D. defense of one of Prof. Quoos’s students.
